School Spotlight: Edith Creek Primary School, TAS
For a small, rural school like Edith Creek Primary School in Tasmania, with just 23 students, receiving more than 100 brand-new books through our Library Regeneration program has already been nothing short of inspiring for the community, even in the few short weeks since the books have arrived.
The school shared that the program has given their library a significant boost and is already encouraging students to keep reading beyond the classroom. To introduce the students to the refreshed library collection, each student was able to choose a book to take home over the summer holidays.
“Watching the excitement on students’ faces as they explored the new library books and choose their own gift was truly heartwarming. The room was filled with chatter and anticipation as children compared titles, shared recommendations, and carefully selected a book that reflected their interests.”
This early enthusiasm is only the beginning. With students already discussing what they will read next, teachers at Edith Creek are confident the program will leave a positive and lasting impact on the community, helping students to explore, read, and share stories that spark imagination and joy.
