Library Regeneration
The Library Regeneration Program helps schools refresh and rebuild their library collections by providing access to brand-new, high-quality books that support students’ learning and reading journeys.
Many schools across Australia face challenges maintaining engaging library collections due to limited budgets, ageing books, or a lack of access to new resources.
Through the program, schools can select books from a curated online catalogue to suit their students’ interests, reading levels, curriculum needs and community context.
By providing schools with the opportunity to choose the books they need most, Library Regeneration helps create vibrant library spaces where students are encouraged to explore, discover and develop a lifelong love of reading.
How Does Library Regeneration Work?
Participating schools receive access to a curated online catalogue of brand-new books and can select titles that best meet the needs of their students and school community.
Schools can choose from a wide range of books, including fiction, non-fiction, picture books and other engaging titles, allowing them to refresh their library collection with books their students will enjoy.
Through Library Regeneration, schools can:
Replace outdated or depleted library resources
Add new and engaging titles to their collection
Select books that reflect their students’ interests and learning needs
Create a library environment that encourages reading and discovery
Why Do School Libraries Matter?
For many children, the school library is an important place to access books they may not have at home.
However, many schools face challenges maintaining engaging, up-to-date collections due to limited budgets, ageing books and competing priorities.
A refreshed library gives students more opportunities to discover books that interest them, explore new ideas and build confidence as readers.
Through Library Regeneration, we help schools create welcoming library spaces where children can connect with books and develop a lifelong love of reading.
Impact in Schools
The impact of a refreshed library can be seen in the excitement students have when they discover new books and the renewed enthusiasm schools experience around reading.
“The Library replenishment has helped to reignite our little school’s love of reading. The students were all so excited to explore their new collection of books… Thank you again for not only supplying us with books, but for most importantly giving our students the gift of brighter minds for a brighter future.”
