School Spotlight: Narrabri Public School, NSW
Narrabri Public School, with 255 students, recently received 555 brand-new books through Dymocks Children’s Charities’ Library Regeneration program, helping refresh and expand its school library collection.
The impact was immediate.
One student who previously struggled with reading and often avoided it discovered a book they genuinely enjoyed. For the first time, reading felt fun and engaging, sparking a positive shift in their attitude and confidence.
Since then, students have been reading more regularly, exploring a wider range of genres, and actively recommending books to their peers.
Teachers have also noted increased enthusiasm for reading across the school, with more students participating in reading activities and discussions.
Access to diverse, engaging books is helping foster a stronger reading culture, both in the classroom and beyond.
