School Spotlight: Mount Tarampa State School, QLD

At Mount Tarampa State School in Queensland, a new collection of books is helping more children discover the joy of reading. The school, which has around 60 students, received more than 230 brand-new books through our Library Regeneration program.

Students have been eagerly borrowing the books and looking for every opportunity to read them in the classroom. The school has noticed that children who would not normally choose reading after completing their work are now reaching for their library books instead.

Before the program, the school was looking to update its library collection with more current and engaging books. Its buddy reading program each morning also needed a wider range of books so students could read together more often.

Since the new books arrived, the response has been clear.

With a variety of books across different ages and interests and reading abilities, there's something for everyone to discover.

“The children have shown huge engagement with the books.”

For Mount Tarampa State School, the program has brought new life to its library and created more opportunities for children to find books they want to read.
