School Spotlight: Newstead College, TAS
Students at Newstead College, TAS are borrowing more books than ever before after receiving more than 475 brand-new books through Dymocks Children's Charities' Library Regeneration Program.
The school's library collection had become outdated and was in poor condition, making it difficult to engage students with reading. Since the arrival of the new books, loan rates have more than doubled, with students enthusiastically exploring both recreational reading and curriculum-related resources.
The impact has been felt across the entire school community. One staff member, who has worked at the college for more than 20 years, commented that they had never seen the library so busy.
For the college's 332 students, access to fresh, relevant books has transformed the library into a vibrant and engaging space, helping inspire a stronger culture of reading and learning.
